At various times throughout the year Spectrum Volleyball hosts indoor beach tournaments and large indoor court tournaments. One of them being Western Cup. Past tournaments have drawn teams from all over Canada and even a few from the United States. Be sure to come out get involved and get a team in for the cities funnest volleyball tournaments.
Western Cup | April 9-12, 2020
Each year Spectrum Volleyball hosts Western Cup, the longest running and largest multi-sport LGBTQ in North America. The tournament typically sells out each year and draws over 250 volleyball players. Athletes take part in 2 full days of games and have various social events to attend throughout the weekend. Volleyball has been a staple with Western Cup, it has been offered since the very first tournament. It has grown to be the largest participating sport with well over 200 athletes in 32 teams. Every year the tournament draws players from all over Canada and even across the border.
The tournament will run over 2 days, with the first day being round robin and 2nd day will be playoffs and finals. Teams will be guaranteed 4 round robin games and playoffs will be double elimination. During round robin all teams will be required to ref games within their own division and on 2nd day refs from Volleyball Canada will be onsite to call playoff and finals.
All players teams are invited to come register at the opening event Thursday evening before the Friday games. Each player must check in with ID and sign off on their waivers before playing. Registration includes lunch for each day of tournament play as well as tickets to all the social events happening over the weekend.
